“The unreal is more powerful than the real. Because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on. If you can change the way people think. The way they see themselves. The way they see the world. You can change the way people live their lives. That’s the only lasting thing you can create”

Chuck Palahniuk

just some beautiful pictures.

I found something amazing today.
Ellen Rogers.
Haunting photoraphs.
Just look at them.
I can't help but sigh silently and whisper to become as amazing as she is one day.
Here's link to her website, full of pure beauty and talent: http://www.ellenrogers.co.uk/

audrey kawasaki's drawing room

lately i've had a huge craving for my own bird cage. i would let it be a place for feathery fake birds or butterflies. also audrey kawasaki has two wonderful bird cage.

screencaps from my favourite movies

words from books i've read recently

Why do people have to be this lonely? What’s the point of it all? Millions of people in the world, all of them yearning, looking to others to satisfy them, yet isolating themselves. Why? Was the earth put here just to nourish human loneliness?

- Haruki Murakami (Sputnik Sweetheart)

I’ll tell them not to follow the manual of good behaviour but to discover their own lives, desires, adventures and to live.

I would love to have a long hair.

portraits o' plank

I have loved well done portraits for quite a long time.
Here's some I've enjoyed looking at lately.
For my taste, portraits have to reveal something about that person and as a perfectionist, I require a certain kind of lightning for the photo. There must be a spark in the eyes of the model.

These portraits are quite traditional, but have also that modern glimpse (like close ups). I also enjoy not-so-conventional portraits, like the ones photographed by Diane Arbus. (Not to even mention Anton Corbijn!)

blooms and words that make my heart explode

"White, wan, slender, and very beautiful in the moonlight, she was expecting tenderness; her constant dreams of happiness and love had exhausted her"

~ Anton Chekhov; A Visit.

"You’re beautiful, but you’re empty…. no one could die for you."

~ The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
